High for New Year

There is a tent suggestion in the "one person tent" thread that reminded me of flying a kite up at Mt Sterling on New Year's day.
It was going to be a really hot end and hotter start of the year so Sat morning my mate Yair and myself left Melbourne and went up to the mountains .
As usual we were the only ones camping at the top (several tents hiding in the bushes below) so we just enjoyed looking at the great sunset getting up at 4AM (!) for the very long wait to the sunrise.
Yair did not bother with a tent, just slept in his bivvy.
(BTW, nice cool night. Windy so no bugs . About 10c in the early morning)
After breakfast Yair decided to fly his kite.
After many failed attempts we finally figured out what was wrong and managed to let it fly till we got tired of it.
Anyway, we preferred the Milky Way to the fire works...
