I was walking through the Cathedral ranges..the trails around cooks mill are closed to walkers... ..This is because of logging and NOTHING ELSE....what do the brains trust have to say on this issue..??? Do you hike it anyway...I walk solo,,,and have a tread lightly attitude...I DO NOT normally care what signs are up and what they are telling me to do...the bush is for all of us...Am i alone in these thoughts..??

There are a lot of State Forests around here that I sometimes fish. If logging is in progress, it's a work site and a dangerous one. There are very stiff penalties if you are found in there. All that aside, it's noisy, filthy and the place is a real mess, are you going to enjoy such a place?

Good point,,,,although i wasnt thinking of stopping for lunch,,,,more like,,,if thats the usual way you get to your camp ground,,,do you still hike it..???

Little River Track is alongside the logging area and St Bernards runs alongside for a short bit so there is the possibility of having a run-in with a logging machine or having a pine tree felled on top of you. In either situation it would probably hurt a bit. In both case the road is an alternative route.

Personally I often read track closed signs as "enter with care and be prepared to turn back". You also run the risk of looking stupid when the people repairing the bridge turn you back and suggest you read the road closed sign you passed an hour ago.
