Might be a good weekend to go and find a nice cool rainforest stream.

or just stay at home and sit under the sprinkler :)

If only it had rained at some point in the past 6 months...

Was up at Springbrook last weekend and the "twin falls" was just a single fall... and barely trickling at that!

Or come down to Tassie. It'll probably snow at Ben Lomond.

Yeah rub it in... I spent the day out doing soil tests and even though it wasn't that hot the humidity was insufferable

I love humidity. Dry heat knocks me out.

Yeah, I really am that weird.

It has sure been a dry 6 months no doubt about it.
The volume of water removed from Springbrook by the likes of Coca Cola can really only add to the problem. It really should be stopped immediately.

Been chasing with my laughing & screaming 2year old in & out of the water sprinkler all day...it's been a great way to cope with this heat. :D
Looking forward to a ice cold beer on the verandah this evening.....thai style, with lots of ice in it.

Been trying to add some tieout pockets to my tarp but i keep getting pulled away....Daddy, Daddy ! :)

They both suck. The humidity sometimes feels like you're trying to breathe through a wet flannel and moving around feels so heavy and uncomfortable. It's such a disappointment when you hear a breeze coming and anticipate the refreshment and then when it arrives it feels like you are standing next to an oven and opening the door.

I'm already wishing I had done more bushwalking, camping and kayaking over the cooler months even though I did heaps. Summer always sees a vast reduction in my outdoor pursuits. I might have to take up diving again, makes me wish I hadn't sold my kit...

sprinklers, beers and tinkering with gear. Sounds like a perfect sunday to me!

Funnily enough I have just cracked open a coldie and have just finished replacing the guylines to my terra rosa tarp. The only difference is that I was working on an assignment for uni today and not playing under the sprinkler!

shady rain forest creeks generally are cooler then sprinkles at home, but getting to them with little kids on the backseat of a car might be a different story....

On a hot steamy day, nothing better than holding your breathe & plunging your head into the cool clear waters
of a rainforest creek....

Problem with these idyllic locations is that one has to endure the harsher environment to get to, and to get back out.

You've hit the nail on the head Gpsguided, that's what bushwalking's all about ....just start & finish earlier during the
sweltering days, you'll see more critters & creatures just after dawn anyway. ;-)

Start and finish earlier? Get back by 10? That's my cycling schedule. Ride out at dawn and return at no later than 10am, ideally 9. Otherwise it's skin cancer time.
