The Trail Running Association of Qld. has a run that does the 45km course in one day. The mainly forest track has no parts that slow you for more than a few minutes so just work out how long it will take at your normal walk speed. The 'slow' parts are rocky slabs and minor creek crossings. A comfortable rate of 25km per day will see you finished in two days. There are another 40km of optional side tracks which will make your total three or four days depending on your speed, how many side tracks you take and how much time you want not walking but otherwise enjoying the experience.

My friend and I walked the Washpool circuit in 2011 over the easter holidays. We planned to walk for 4 days, we ended up having a rest day at one campsite as the walk was eaiser and we walked eaiser than anticipated. The best part of the walk is where there are no campers...not surprising! The waterfall is lovely and we camped there for one night, there is no camp ground but we found level ground and really enjoyed the falls and peace - as there was no-one else around. Enjoy the walk, its surprisingly diverse countryside.

I did the walk recently. Its a great track. Very easy to follow. and pretty easy (but my blog post describes the stuff that i stupidly did)
http://cultivatethought.blogspot.com.au ... world.htmlIm doing the race that is coming up.
I didnt see another person the whole time. But it would be a great trip to do a multi day. But i wouldnt think that you would take more than two days. Unless you were really taking your sweet time.
Hope you enjoy it!

The Gibralter/ Washpool circuit walk only skirts the southern edge of Washpool wilderness. The Washpool is a great place to walk. The ridges have magnificent rainforest with a clear understory and the creeks above Pipi flat are also open. I would suggest you get some 1:25k maps and walk in Washpool rather than road bash next to it.
