Great Noosa Trail Walk

Postby Shaun Walsh » Tue 19 Mar, 2013 9:32 pm

A new bushwalking event has been announced in Queensland.

The Great Noosa Trail Walk is a 3 day journey on 5, 6 and 7 October 2013 through the natural and cultural landscape of the Noosa hinterland known as “Noosa Country”. The trail traverses the country towns of Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Kin Kin via a series of dedicated walking trails through farmlands, natural forests and spectacular lookouts of the hinterland through to the ocean.

$150.00 ?

I prefer to do my own thing and not have someone tell me when I can or cant leave.
And would prefer to carry my own gear on the hike. I like very early starts to the day. Don't know if this is my thing, but I will consider as the time gets closer, would be good training.

Could be interesting hiking with so many, I'm a solo hiker, last time anyone joined me on a hike was june of last year, i love my solitude and generally don't like big crowds when out hiking, but this is area i would like to walk.

Interesting idea. Not really my thing either but I hope it goes well. Would be interesting to see what sort of people you get as the program and style lends itself to the more casual walker I would have thought, however the distances covered are fairly high.

Thats my thoughts as well. There going to hope to have a big enough bus to carry all the social walkers back to the finnish.

Well this one is literally in my neighborhood. Its part of the Noosa trail network and you can pull a free brochure with rudimentary maps from this link. http://www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/add ... chure1.pdf
There is some pleasant walking, with alot along road sides as well as the open fields and trails. This one will definitely be for the trendy Noosa set that hasn't seen the likes of Pomona, Cooran and possibly Kin Kin. Theres a few large hills to ascend, but there will be a few that will have to make the climb depending on which direction on the routes they go.
My advice is to download the trail map and check it out yourself when you can.
I REALLY AM A NICE GUY. JUST ASK ANYONE WHO HASN'T MET ME.
