I will be in Brisbane in May and have been able to arrange for a one night showing of the Launceston Walking Club's 45th "Do You Know Tasmania" show as a joint venture with Bushwalking Queensland Inc. and FMR Inc. BWQ will be emailing information to all SE Queensland clubs in the next few days, but here are some details of the show for forum members in the Brisbane region. Please pass the word around about the show to those you feel would be interested in attending - and of course come along yourself. The last DYKT Show in Brisbane was in Febuary 2010, and before that sponsored by Ansett in 1980! There may be some "mature" bushwalkers who remember these shows in the 1970's.

Here's some further details about the Brisbane show. It will run without an interval for 1 hour 45 minutes, and supper of tea/coffee and fresh baked biscuits will be included in the admission cost. So for those of you with some distance to travel, the show will finish around 8.45pm with supper and chat after until 9.30pm when we have to close up. I will have a limited number of our historic DYKT movie DVD's Volumes 1 to 4 available at a special show price of $30 per set of Vols 1/2 and Vols 3/4. Regular price is $20 per DVD plus postage through the LWC website. Further information about the DVD contents for those interested can be checked out here - http://www.launcestonwalkingclub.org.au/buy-dvds.html

Latest news is that Anaconda have provided some sponsorship in the form of lucky door prizes that will be drawn after the show, so see you there this Thursday 17th May for a great evening's entertainment . . . and a chance to take home some outdoor adventure equipment.

If any forum members attended the show, it would be great to get your feedback for planning future presentations.
