We are doing the Jatbula track walk in July this year in the dry seaon and were thinking of just taking the tent inner and not the water proof fly with us.
The use of the inner only will improve air flow as the nights only get down to low teens. The only downside is if we get rain?
Interested in people's thoughts about this or should we take the fly as well as a precaution

Hi PHIL,
I did the Jatbula last June and the nights were surprisingly cool. No rain on my trip. Perhaps if you can take the fly with you and check the forecast just before you go....
Enjoy the walk

I did Jatbula last July and only took an inner. My research said that it was very unlikely to rain. We would have been much too hot with a fly. If it did rain you would get wet, but not cold. We also took just one sleeping bag between 2. Great walk.

I camped in Kakadu in August. Took the fly but only used the inner. Needed the sleeping bag for the cooler nights, never missed the fly.

Did Jatbula last July and took the fly but never used it. Way too hot even with just the net.
