Grampians N.P. Mt. Rosea loop day walk.6-10-24

at the above web link. It would seem I have not
walked this route since June 2017 so it was enjoyable and just strenuous enough to fill up five hours in the day .
Go on a weekday before spring concludes and you will have a good day out without too many other people walking this route
as part of the Grampians Peaks Trail( User pays Cash Cow trail).

Nice one PCV!
I did that loop with Mr. J in his larval form as part of the buildup for the Overland in '19. It was a very wet and windy day, and I had crap gear on so was shivering by the time we got back to the car.
I have to learn the hard way I guess. I had Mr. J well kitted out, so he was fine whilst I couldn't barely use my fingers to press the car fob or change into dry gear.
We were gonna camp at Borough Huts, but the thought of setting up a tent in the chilly driving rain made us book at one of the Motels and partake in medicinal Vindaloo for myself, Butter Chicken for Mr. J. to beat the chill.
There was a fireplace in the Indian restaurant at the time, which helped with the chill too. I think that's gone now.
This is the only photo I can find of the day (before I took lots of photos and videos and overshared like I do now).
It's the track up Rosea, not a creek, which gives an indication of the amount of rain.

Choosing a weather window is important in the Grampians. It is very exposed up there on those rocks. The wind,rain and sun take no prisoners!
I was lucky that I got one day out of three days that happened to be dry and
with decent visibility.
I will return.
The Sheephills track walk from the valley Floor to Mt. William looks like a solid day walk ,up and back via the same route.
The Grand Canyon now has new expensive nanny state stairs for those who prefer to have a soft option.
The full day tour of the Wonderland area on foot starts at the bottom near the Caravan park at Halls Gap
and proceeds past Venus Baths and ascends to the Pinnacle IIRC.
On a cloudy cool spring weekday it would worth the effort sans weekend crowds.
I would like to return to
the A**** Ears track and tag it with pink tape just
so some more adventurous walkers can get up there and follow the old route
and enjoy the Grampians the way they used to be.
