People should give this route a go but you won't
get up to the winter gate on Stoney Tops track
in a 2 WD. There is a creek ford for vehicles on Dungey's track and the route up has steep and rocky sections where the clay
based jeep road is off camber as well as steep.
An AWD SUV soft roader will be fine but take a chainsaw and know how to use it. Trees do fall down on the unsealed
roads out there.
