Mt Difficult area

Interested in feedback re a couple of sections and spots:
- What's the condition/size of the Mud Hut Creek camp area (just south of Briggs Bluff diversion)? Theoretically not allowed for dispersed camping though.
- Has anyone completed the 'old' Troopers Creek route up to Mt Difficult. Seems to be actively discouraged, perhaps 'closed'. Anyone still doing that?

I trekked up the old Trooper's creek route back when it was THE ROUTE. It was a bit of a scramble in places.
