Hey Guys and Gals,

Sorry I have been quiet over the last little while. Had some exciting things happening and will be back up full speed over the next couple of weeks.

Here is one of my latest trips over to Mt Bogong. It was a great trip even it it was a bit soggy and chilly for alot of it! The highlihgts were no doubt the fresh snow, needing the snowshoes, and the chance to have a summit camp while the weather held! Cairn Creet hut wasnt to bad either.

What was the condition of the track into Cairn Creek Hut? Last time I was down there, the turnoff was almost invisible.

It was in terrible shape. Horrible regrowth. We were the first in the CC hut log book since november last year. Every now and again we would see an old trail marker. There was a downed tree where the chainsaw had cut through it for the path years back but it was so chocked with regrowth that we had to struggle overthe tree only a few meters from the 'path' . The snow made it a bit worse as it was falling off the scrub as we pushed through. Hence no pictures or videos of it.
It was a treat to make the Quartz Ridge track thats for sure.

Fantastic video! All that fresh snow looks like fun :D
Are you allowed to camp on Bogong's Summit? That would be an amazing experience!

Yes, you can, and yes, it is. Especially in the snow.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. On my bucket list now as well! First in summer then, one day, in the snow.

Looks like you got good use out of your snowshoes, which is much more fun than just carrying the extra weight for a few days. I went snowshoeing for the first time near Queenstown NZ and had a ball. I want to do that again as well, but I'm not really geared up for snow camping yet.

Yeah the snowshoes were a massive help after the front blew in. Would have been alot more trouble with out them.
