Will be a family trip to NSW Snowy Mountains based in Jindabyne for about 8 or 9 days from Boxing Day. Just doing day walks, probably revisiting some favourite places around the main range and elsewhere and hopefully exploring a few new ones. Might also take my recently acquired Klymit LWD (packraft) and do a bit of easy paddling. All as time permits.

Working chrissy and boxing day, so if anyone is bored, drop into Mt Field and ask for Brendan. Would be good to catch up, and the cafe will be open...

Cheers

Hey Binder,
3 weeks too late! I had a wonderful 5 days down there (with the Very Large group of women staying at the govt huts). Can't wait to get back for some more peaks and plateau walking. :)

Off to the Franklands in late Jan/Feb, depending on when my holidays are set, and depending on a car shuffle, otherwise I'm off to the Eldons for 2 weeks.

Working, forecast for today, 40c + rain. I don't mind being indoors so much when it gets like this.

I'll save my holidays for the cooler months when there are less people about.

Wife and I off to NZ to "tramp" the Heaphy Track. Starting the walk on the 29th Dec. Any other forum members out that way? Hoping for some good weather and company in the huts. Previously walked the Milford and Routeburn Tracks. If those past experiences are anything to go by should be a very enjoyable walk.

I will be working - trying to catch up after a busy 3 or 4 month period.

I will take time off when all the kids are back at school and parents back at work.

I retired last year so no need now to be away when everyone else is. Going over to WA in April and will do the Bibbulmun between Walpole and Albany. Sussed it out last year and it looks like a great walk.

Instead of going away over summer this year I'm giving more time to the CFA.

Working. But if the code runs well and all the bits line up then I might wander up to Mt Field. Tarn Shelf would be nice in cloudy weather. Or perhaps make another assault on Hartz. The weather might play fair third time.

I'll save the o'nighters till after the rest return to the office in January.

Just back from our first visit EVER to The Prom (Wilsons Prom). We did the southern circuit over 5 days...well 2 half days and 3 full days (Tidal River - Oberon Bay - Halfway Hut - Roaring Meg - South Point - Lighthouse / South East Point - Little Waterloo Bay - Refuge Cove - Sealers Cove - Telegraph Saddle). I must have mislead my hubby a little because somewhere along the way he did remark that it wasn't quite the "stroll in the park" that he was expecting :D

We left Perth to head to Tassie back in early November. After spending nearly five weeks in SA (Wilpena walks, Kangaroo Island nocturnal invertebrates and Xmas on the Murray out of Berri the highlights) we crossed over into Vic and are now cooling our heals at a Mildura caravan park. Crowds and action takes a bit of getting used to after all the solitude we've had.

Only problem is, other than an appointment at the Rainbow Serpent Festival in late January, we don't know where to go or what to do until tassie ferry in Feb.

Spoiled for choice!
