Packrafting Facebook page

Sat 02 Mar, 2013 8:36 am

Hi,
I have just created a Facebook page relating to packrafting. http://www.facebook.com/Wildaboutpackrafting I would like people to post their adventures, photos and videos of packrafting.

Are you re-inventing the wheel? http://packrafting.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=13

No he's not, it's a local forum.. I would suggest though that (if the commercial venture (hire) is at the heart of things) you formalise a 'business' at some stage (if you haven't already).
Perhaps also mention the association here TD?

A forum is a forum a facebook page is a facebook page. A wheel of cheese is different to a tractor wheel 8)

Lol, What sort of cheese?

I think it is acting as a forum to encourage local discussion but yes, not at the same level as the Alpacka site (which is more like BWA).

I am not trying to replicate the packrafting.org forum which is sponsored by Alpacka. I am trying to give people an easy access to discuss packrafting in Australia. Facebook is easy to use post video and photos on, and yes I am " sponsoring" the Facebook site. People have enquired as to where they could hire packrafts from so I thought I would provide a service. I am not going to be giving up my day job, but it does give me another excuse to go a see more of this beautiful state.
