First tick bite

Mon 10 Nov, 2014 9:39 am

Showed our visiting relatives from the US of our bush scene and took them on a nice bush loop in the Ku-ring gai Wild Flower Garden yesterday, came home, found a tick firmly attached to my chest. Initially I was taking my shirt off and found the shirt stuck to my skin at one particular point. With my progressive long-sightness, I couldn't quite see what it was about. Initially questioning why I have a staple stuck to my skin until my wife took a good look. Took considerable effort before it came off. Fortunately it did not draw blood and there was no local bleeding nor reaction, suspecting because of the shirt, it only managed to barely bite into the epidermis. Still impressed by the strength of the bite though. Tick! Another bush experience in the bag.

Yep, they have impressive holding strength even when it looks like they aren't that well attached. I'm happy...for you..??? ;)

Thanks Cams. Something new from the bush every time... Must be doing it right. :)
