My story is exact opposite.
I nearly killed off my first love (prospective wife) when I had a hairbrain idea and decided a walk into the Walls was a good way to show her my love of the bush.
We got to The Trappers hut and THAT WAS IT!!!!!!!!
It didn't end there though fortunately, and we eventually married.
Honeymoon was supposed to be at Lake Nameless, but dear new wife decided that we had walked far enough, so chose a nice little spot near a nice little lake half way between Lake Explorer and Nameless.
The sunsets were idyllic and all went beautifully until I took up the tent and underneath the ground sheet were about half a dozen little snakes.

We never went bush again, but that didn't end things either. She stuck with me thankfully.
Then children appeared, who would venture out with me so I was able to enjoy sharing first hand what a joy it CAN be out and about.

Oh - the name of that 'nice little lake', our honeymoon experience was Snake Lake. Discovered that later.

So all you prospective lovers-to-be don't be put off by first acquaintances gone terribly wrong , hang in there and who knows what could happen.

Quote from a friend when I wrote to him praising a new love interest:
"She may be a the worlds greatest chef, she may be a fantastic dancer; but the important question you have to ask is this: How far can she carry a pack before she starts to whinge?"
Sage advice ;)
