Did anyone find out who it was bought from?
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

Gordonvale was purchased from the estate of the late Mr Pallin - the American eccentric who owned many tracts of Tasmanian land - including the area adjacent to the Marlborough"Highway" where he had a "nuclear fallout shelter"- this property was purchased by the Aboriginal Land Council.

To be clear,
Aboriginal people from across Tasmania attended a signing ceremony yesterday after the land was bought for $3.3 million with federal government and Indigenous Land Corporation funds with the help of Tasmanian Land Conservancy.

This is of course referring to the land adjacent to the Marlborough Highway, not Gordonvale.

So how did Mr Pallin get the Gordonvale land I wonder?
I've seen his fallout shelter, fairly major effort.
