The mountains make their own weather, and it can change with alarming rapidity. Watching the weather and having fallback plans is essential. Forecasts can only go so far.

get some rocks, tie your guy line around a rock and put another rock on hte guy line between between the first rock and the tent, heavy enough to not move in the wind... you can to the same with a stick and a rock...

It's not always easy to find loose rocks. Otherwise that works a treat.

I annoy sure I would pitch a tent like that in any exposed area. Get a real tent if your planning on high exposed camping

Chris McNamara knows more than most about being in exposed places. And I'm pretty sure he (along with Ryan Jordan) would rate a flat tarp as a more dependable shelter in a storm. These guys have some pretty impressive outdoor CVs.

Please read the trip report again. Any tent would have failed in those winds staked out like that.
