Track signage for the theoretical physicist?

There must be some sort of Einsteinian Relativity going on here.

At 8 Mile Gap:

For the record, my GPS reckons it's 11km from Davon's to the highest of the Eagle Peaks, and another 3.4km from there to 8 Mile Gap. And both the GPS and the Hilux's odometer say 20km for the run between them on Brock's Road.

Aside from that, I'm still trying to work out how many eagles and peaks there are :?.
First sign = Eagles Peaks, Eagles Peak
Second sign = Eagle Peaks, Eagles Peaks

Heaps of peaks - I scrambled over at least ten rocky knobs - but not a raptor in sight, not even a kestrel.
