Hi Rowdy. You're correct, it is a native raspberry. Just be aware they do not taste anything like the cultivated variety.

A bunch of flowers about at the moment in the Blueys. No camera, was shown a chocolate scented orchud this week.

Am loving exploring some new national parks south of my usual haunts. And it being spring, we have been blown away by the variety of wildflowers, their profuse flowering in some spots, and the thrill of finding new faces...here’s a few from near Mt Gingera in Namadgi NP, last week.

In addition to the pictures here we saw Calendia orchids, snow daisy, twin-flower beard heath, Alpine hovea, Goodenias, buttercups, stackhousia and three type of yellow pea including gorse bitter pea. Just beautiful walking.

Hyacinth Orchids are out if force again this year around the Campbelltown area. This spot is east of Campbelltown North and is the biggest patch of this type of Orchid I have ever seen. Worth the effort to walk over and see if they are our out. They are pretty reliable but occasionally they wont flower. I managed to get out this morning and walk over for a look.

Every one of those spikes sticking up from the ground in the following picture is a flower stem. This was also replicated on the right hand side of the fire trail.

Nice Michael, I've also seen them growing in Royal NP though not as abundant. I'm trying to get out for a short walk before Christmas Day if I can extract myself from the chores at home. Is that somewhere around Smiths Creek?

I have found these orchids along Peter Meadows Ck and the Georges River but I have never seen so many in one spot anywhere else.

Thanks for the co-ords Michael. I managed to see them yesterday on the way home from Bunnings.
Of course Muggins somehow went sailing past them initially, thinking they were beyond that junction.
Would be great to see that whole patch in bloom simultaneously.
I did find a few more just south of there near the creek, but literally only 2 or 3. Here is one of those:

On a coastal walk yesterday, came across these. Anyone know what plant it is? And are these fruit poisonous or edible?

Hi should be Crinum pedunculatum.

They have a nice white flower with whispy bits off the petals, similar to 'spider lillies' you may see planted in a garden.

Don't know if you can eat them!! They are easy to grow and a tough plant. When those seeds dry to an off white put one in a pot so its partially exposed. Or if left around dry they will eventually start to put out a shoot.

Good garden plant to 1m and someimes used on roadside plantings.

Awesome! Thanks Neo. A bit of googling has revealed that the leaves can be used to relieve the pain from marine stings. But doesn't seem edible.
