Too lazy to get into identifying specific species. Have some nice key guides and have seen some excellent reference books.
There is on species that has a no or subterranean trunk and a flower spike that looks more like a Bottlebrush. It may be an X. minor

It's a grass flower, close up. Amazingly complex things.
Near Anvil Rock, Blue Mts.
