BENGUET, Philippines – The management of the Mount Pulag National Park in the Cordillera is now requiring hikers to submit health clearance certificates before they can explore the geologic feature that stands 2,922 meters above sea level.

And I thought Victoria was the nanny state.
It defies logic, what next a fitness certificate to get out of an armchair?
She was going to have the heart attack sometime, that's how heart attacks go.
She made it to camp and I'll bet she enjoyed every one of the last steps she ever took.

decades ago there was a big winter storm on long island new york. the rate of people dying from heart attacks doubled during the storm..... the rate of people dying from heart attacks for the following two weeks halved... leaving the no of dead the same as normal for a given month in winter...

How hard will it be to buy a health clearance down at the Bazar. Still I can see the first world going this route. Dressed up as safe concerns for the user, and park management fees, but the underlying OH&S for park rangers is perhaps what it's all about.
