G'day All,
Does anyone know the reason for Huts being removed from Tasmanian Google Maps :?:

Should have done more personal research some huts are still visible

Phil,
Not up with layers on the maps but it looks like Private huts like Lees and Wadleys have been edited out :?:

Wadley's hut can still be seen, but Lees is harder. The very early morming pics make the shadows long .

Lees is very hard to see if it's there at all.

Thanks for that FF I can see the spot where Lees should be but no obvious roof and at Wadleys a bit of a shadow but again no obvious roof :? perhaps I should have done more research before asking the question

Another trick is to zoom right in and then click on the image date (bottom left) you can then look at previous imagery which may show a better view of the area. Use the slider that appears on top left of the image.

It also shows how far out some of the image calibration used to be "back in the old days"

I think corvus is right, Lees hut has been swept off with a clear unnatural spot left.

Had another closer look and it it only the shadow of Wadleys that is showing ,you can pick out the roof line and chimney shape not even a shadow from Lees just an obvious walked on area ??
Is it a privacy issue with Google :?

Pine Hut Plains Hut has also been erased

Lees and Pine Hut Plains are still there but pretty hard to pick with the sun angle. A few others in the attached file. Never been to Wadleys so cant look for that!

Thanks Phil,
Just shows that I should not believe what others tell me about removal of hut images and learn to look harder for myself

Rather than start another topic on Google Earth, I'll comment here - how many of you have noticed the new high resolution imagery that covers the northern part of the Western Arthurs and the areas to the East and West? The level of detail is such that the tracks are now clearly visible. Here's a screen shot of where the new high res images join the previous quality imagery.
