Dye question

Not bushwalking gear but I'm hoping for some geek advice.
I need and want a wall hanging in the lounge room for acoustic purposes, to minimise reflections of high frequency sounds in the audio spectrum.
I found a wonderful old bedspread from the 70s in an Op-Shop dog blanket basket for $2- but Cecile hates it, partly to do with the 70s earth colours that don't go with the cool grey paint on the walls.
I'd like to overdye it to better suit the wall colour.
Mind you this may not work but it's worth a try.
Any opinions on what colour to use to bring the pale cream, orange and browns closer to some sort of grey?
Yes it's ugly but in a good way but the acoustic properties are why I got it, it's very heavy and weighs about 5 kilos. Some wool, some acrylic and quite a bit of mohair.
Already thought about just using black but that might be a bit too dark
The walls are about the same grey as the plate in the last photo.

What's the material? (polyester, cotton, ...?)
Natural dye may work (generally not so good with cotton, though). Suggest eucalyptus leaves (reds , greens, browns, greys - species dependant), oxalis flowers for bright yellows. The colour you get is often very different to the colour of the leaves/flowers (oxalis is an exception)
My wife has been dying for decades and I can attest to how well natural dye colours blend.
Of course, you could get really artistic and weave your wall-hanging from scratch

As per the description in the post it's a blend of Acrylic, wool and mohair, plus some other bits that look a bit like straw or grass but not much of that.

Probably commercial dye then - mohair doesn't take up natural dye well, acrylic can be poor too. You'll struggle to change the existing colours unless you go dark or bright (eg hot pink to distract from the browns).

The suggestion of "Hot Pink" met with an extremely hostile reception.
I guess it is going to be dark blue or black dye then.
