Fibre insulated scarves?

I'd never pay the price of the Patagonia NanoPuff scarves but I have found a few scraps of APEX here and I have plenty of UL polyester fabric and I was thinking of sewing up an APEX insulated scarf or neck wrap.
Has anybody here used one and comment on the worth ?
I have plenty of scarves here and don't often wear one but a high loft version would take up much less room in the pack than a woven or knitted one.
Would be the standard width of fabric at 1500mm less selvage and I might be able to sew thought the selvage

Maybe? Certainly seems a bit limited in use but why not just make one for yourself anyway? Dead simple job. Put up some pics of yours and you might get some takers for one as well.

I would prefer a buff over a scarf as they do the same job (keep your neck warm) while providing lots of other functions.

Interestingly [ or not ] I have a couple of Buffs, several Choobs and even a couple of the original TurtleFur convertibles but I do prefer balaclavas and Finnish cowls for cold weather. I might just get a sewing machine out and have a go at this, see what happens with the ultra slippery polyester shell fabric

Apex inside a poly shell?
That's an interesting choice but easy to sew-what the hell-have a crack!

Sewn on Ceciles new machine.
Pix follow later on.
First impressions are Too short, very warm. too wide at 200mm.
So rather than 1250 * 200 I think it would be better at 2100 * 150 and that isn't easy out of scraps of fibre.
