I need new winter pants for ski touring and walking. As there isn't anything on the market I think is suitable Cecile and I will make them. I can't decide between polartec stretch 100 or windpro
Any thoughts best fabric for winter tights??
I was going to get my fabric from Mill Yardage and they have some fabric on clearance @ $3- a running yard in stretch 100 but not Powerstretch Pro as far as I could see

windproof fabrics even windproof fleeces can build up moisture inside when you're working hard, more flexible option is normal fleece and layer over it if you need to. remember its your legs that are generating the vast majority of heat when you're on the move... when you start blocking out the wind on them the difference in heat retention is massive...

Well I could just go with the polartec stretch then and double up the fabric on the knees.
I was thinking of trying to reduce the number of layers I wear to cut back on some weight
No Alpha on sale yet

I do have some UL Goretex just big enough but it has no stretch at all. The site only does full yard orders but I could just order a yard and pass on what I don't use. It is why I was looking for the stretch Pro as the face is very hard wearing from what I read; even if not as warm.
