So I thought I'd give the old firebox ago thos afternoon...

I was randomly at masters and i remembered to check out the steal ties for studs which were are a low price of 85c each. I grabbed 6 for this build.

I used this video as a guide for my own. http://youtu.be/P77TmRq_Tc4

And after maybe 10 minutes... here's the results

I thibk5 that ill make some bigger air holes on the back and sides and maybe cut a significant amount out of the front cross piece.
advice, criticism and applause are all welcome.
Happy trekking.

Just remember to stand well up-wind when burning off the zinc

Yeah will do, I've burnt it out twice now. Might go a third before I actually use it.

Years ago I purchased one of those folding windscreens to make a stove out of it.
Can't remember why I did not go ahead with it but if you have good metal drill bits it may end up a faster and easier way of setting it up and taking down.

Hood idea. Ill check it out. I used it today in the bush.

Worked well but it needs more air flow when the pots on so ill add one more holes at the bottom

before you drill new holes in it , try increasing the gap at the top between the stove and the pot .
Something like this :
