A bit of an Op-Shop project
I took the black shell from the UL down half bag because I wasn't happy with my work and it wasn't giving me the temperature boost I was hoping for.
I did find an UL rectangular bag very cheaply tho and rather than buying new pabric I used this cheap synthetic bag as a donor for fabric and insulation.
My beloved Cecile sewed it for me as I am not allowed to touch her machine
So I wound up with an outer LW ripstop shell and a singlelayer of ~85GSM polyester lined with 85GSM APEX from Simon and the UL fabric.
Weighs 560 grams about the same as the Nunatak product

Ugly but I think warm enough for a get out of jail card in the bottom of my day pack

I have some LW ripstop here, also salvaged from the Op-Shop bag, if the Boss will give me a hand with a zipper installation I think adding in a windproof top section like the new Patagonia half-bag or the desert race model from PHD will be worthwhile.
I hope Cecile has some zippers in her stash as they are something I do not have

No long zippers in the stash and the bag is so high on the chest I think it would be fine anyway.

Down pants are expensive; very expensive compared to this bare bones project that used up scraps and left-overs and adding 450mm would more than double the weight because it would need to be two times as wide.
I see my packydermapod as emergency bivvy stuff or as boosters or as kids over-bags.
580 grams in the stuff sack isn't going to be left behind. 20mm thick won't be comfortable or warm but make should make an unplanned night out survivable, my other "survival bag" weighs 1055grams in 96GSM Thinsulate
