Assuming you actually want a liner UL silk is one of the better choices
I have found a good source of good quality cheap silk in used saris from India via eBay
$22- postage included will get you 5 metres of 1500mm fabric

Nice one!
I dislike using a liner, as I'm a restless sleeper and they tend to get twisted and tangled around me, and end up being very uncomfortable. So I tend to sleep in thermals, or a flannelette shirt instead.
However, I've often considered whether it might be worthwhile making a silk onesie for bushwalking pyjamas. I think this could be done with even less fabric, and therefore may end up even lighter to carry.

One of my orders just arrived. It is a nice subdued olive drab and probably why it was only $16- plus postage but for a mens shirt it is almost perfect, enough fabric to make the liner shirt double layer all over
Good service and communication from this seller
