Primaloft Half Bag with kangaroo pouch
made by Wild Things Gear
supplier of many mountain trips and US military
used on a few trips but just too small for me,yes I know it's a half bag but I'm 188, 80kg etc with long legs so upgraded to Moondog's down halfie which I still haven't had the chance to use yet.
Good size for anyone who normally uses regular or small sized sleeping bags
Anyway, this one needs to go to a new home.
$90

Hi Iceman. I'm vaguely interested - was thinking of a quilt, but maybe this could work. Can't find the specs anywhere. What does it weigh? What sort of temperature rating is it? (Not sure how ratings go on half bags! Haven't come across them till now...)

That is a US military half bag, designed to keep you alive and stop your feet suffering frostbite down to minus 30C when wearing ALL of the new 7 layer system if my research is correct
It is sized for the insulated trousers to go inside
I would be happy to use it down to minus 5 with a pair of fleece on; YMMV
PHD give -5C as the typical temperatures on their Thinsulate version of a half bag
http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/product_info ... ucts_id=90I don't think it would be warm and comfortable at -5C; my summer sleeping bag in a similar weight isn't

think they rate it officially to 30F

30F on it's own sounds about right That's about -1.5C isn't it?
That's the beauty of a truly modular design, you can add or subtract parts of the system to give you the performance you need, and each layer you add inside or over the top adds to the total temperature rating

Just to let you know, Iceman-who-cometh - I've decided on a different option, even though this does sound interesting! All the best
