WTB Alpine Sleeping Bag (found the backpack)

Sun 03 Feb, 2013 8:26 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm after two things.
I'm chasing an alpine sleeping bag for a seven day trip into the victorian high country. I've done this trip twice now with borrowed gear and it's time to get my own but only have funds for second hand. Macpac, one planet etc would be on my hit list but will consider any reasonable down sleeping bag for alpine conditions. Can anyone help me.

Regards Michael

Winter or summer?? It makes a huge difference. What pad are you going to be using? The ground insulation has more bearing than most people realise when they start buying gear.
My beloved wants me to clear some of my stuff so I do have some gear available. It is on the heavier end of the scale tho
WE "Breakout" Large hip-belt; size 2 ( I bought this here on the forum but it is too small for my winter gear) practically brand new and I do not need 5 rucksacks about 3kg $195-

Generic foam inflatable 25mm thick full length Wild Country brand 900grams $10-

Thinsulate mummy bag 1k $20-
I was using it as my emergency ski touring bag in combination with a cheap Home made bivvy sac ( elephants-foot type )
Older down travel bag from Mountain designs 1.15kg $20-
Actually the combination of the 2 cheap bags would be good down to freezing and lower with clothes on.
