[MEL + POST] Stephenson's Warmlite Triple Sleeping Bag -60f

This is a fairly rare bag in Australia but quite well renowned for decades in the USA. The Stephenson's Warmlite Triple Bag is super versatile and rated from 60f to -60f. No, that is not a typo, negative 60f!. It is sold as a whole 'sleep system' with intergrated down mat and two down layers you can use in several combinations.

Purchased with the intention of using it was a winter car camp bag but since I gave up backcountry boarding in Australia it simply sits on the rack now. It has been used less than a 4 times since I purchased it ~6 years ago and that is reflected in the condition. Would suit someone looking for 'as new' condition. The fabric is still crispy and slippery (parachutist lingo). Down in A+ condition as stored loosely in a mesh bag on a rack. Still has the original amount of loft as you can see pictured. Inside is clean as I always sleep with a silk liner.

I am an EXTREMELY cold sleeper and this has been the only bag where I've ever felt 'cosy warm' even in -10c camped out near Hotham and that was with the thick layer + silk liner only. With the thin layer I have no doubt it can handle far colder conditions.

Recommended for: I recommend this bag for winter conditions, the colder the better. It can handle warmer conditions/seasons with the thin layer but with VB its definitely intended for cold. If you want a solid winter base camp bag (Australia and overseas), this is prime.
Not recommended for: Hot, humid conditions. Light weight back packers

The 60" Inch 'Triple Bag' in Blue includes:
'Down Air Mat' integrated with the bottom of the bag. It will never slip.
Thick layer
Thin layer
Stuff sack that is used as pump sack (never used the stuff sack)
Camp-tek Microburst (What I used to pump the DAM)

Sizing: I'm 170cm and 75kg. Can certainly a little taller/larger and a little smaller/lighter. Official recommendations for 5′4″ – 5′10″, 105-155lbs

Cost bag ($640 USD) + Microburst ($39) + USA international shipping

Selling: $480 ono

Welcome to come have a look in Templestowe, VIC. Can post anywhere in Australia for $20

If I can find the old print catalogue they sent me I'll try to include it in the sale. It's an absolute marketing classic with pictures of countless nude hippies sleeping with the bags. Stephensons is a truly unique company and pretty funny to deal with in a good way :). It is a shame their website is now censored but it was certainly NSFW before

Lol advertising says
With stephsons equipment we can bare anything that nature gives us!
All in the picture were nude
And we'll none of the girls were cold you could say from what I saw. Wasn't looking at the blokes sorry

Nope, some parts of their website are still NSFW..

They do make some pretty decent tents too though.

My beloved sleeps even colder than I do but I can't get her to come car camping even.
I am interested I must say but all my money is going to this years base camp so no funds until winter is well over.
Means I'd have to sell off my grandchildren for medical experiments

Hi, roughly much does the whole lot weigh?

As for sizing, do you think trying to fit in there at 6'1 (75kg) would be pushing it?

If I've interpreted the technical specifications correctly, that entire system would weigh 6lb 1.5oz - between 2.5 & 3kg - which isn't bad for something that can deal with such low temperatures.

I will weigh the lot tomorrow but it would be around what north-north-west suggested.

6'1 would not be suitable for this bag imo. I would say up to 5'9 - 5'10 max
