Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

I have two of these unused, one left and one right zip. My wife and I thought we could fit into the six foot long version, but we need the longer model. They are great bags, you can't go wrong with WM.
Both are brand new with all original bags etc. $450 each.
I'm travelling and will be back on 8 July to send these out to a buyer.

Sounds like a scam, this has all the traits of one. Pay now and can't post till much later. First time poster... Why don't you advertise these when you get back

As I'm a glass half full sort of guy, just a copy of some official documents. Any copy of a Nigerian, Russian, People Democratic Republic of.... drivers license will do me fine and way lay my concerns.

Does this sort of thing happen here?

I hope not, but it is always buyer beware, this might be very much so

Giving benefit of the doubt to the OP he hasn't given payment details so an interested buyer could organise to pay upon his return.

Have seen a number of first time posts in Market Square & Lost Property.
Having said that I do agree with Scottyk.

I agree. There's some leeway here and I'd like to think the OP is legitimate. Maybe he just thought that it'll take a bit of time to attract interest and he can attend to it all in 3 weeks time.
However, given it's a first time forum participants, personally I would not be comfortable with remote purchase. If I am interested, I'd do local pick up. Maybe this is one for Sydney buyers.

Cmon guys. If you have an issue/concern/suspicion with a post, report it to the Mod team. This thread is a mess.

Mickyb I've bought off a first time poster, it was a concern at the time but it all ended up ok. I haven't read cries of innocence and it has been a long time.
Strider I did look for a report icon and started to do this when I got home as well but got side tracked, I will try to find it now

Can't believe I didn't see that, thanks

I guess if the poster comes back with a right of reply and some decents pictures we may think different. Would be nice to have some pixs. I sure the poster could take a few for us.
And if a buyer want more maybe the seller could put it on eBay and pay through pay pal.

Thanks for all the comments guys, and apologies for causing such a stir.
I was, as GPSguided suggested, just putting it out there ahead of time, and didn't expect the post would get much interest. I thought I had seen someone else mention they would post when they returned from travel in another post. Reading it back now I can see how it might be read another way.
I'm on the road now, but will post some proof of life photos on Monday. I would not expect payment this far ahead, and Paypal or going through Ebay (I have 100% approval there) if that is considered good etiquette would all be OK.
Treating people well, and not leaving a mess behind, either in the bush or in business are important to me.
Thanks ...

Hi All -- thanks for the raising the concern about this post. Great to see the community looking after each other. I have emailed with dkeir a few times and he seems genuine to me.Matt

Guys -
I'll drop the price on these bags to $360 - either separately or both together if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
David

No to belabour the point but I fail to see how the original post could be construed as suspicious. Reads as perfectly legit to me.
Wed 25 Jun, 2014 9:33 pm
Probably because it was the users first ever post, there were no photos of the bags and the person was heading over seas and would send when returned. I wouldn't buy something for $900 with out at least some good pixs of the items and i had some sought of belief that once I put the money into an account the person would actually send the item. (Has happened before , no item but money paid)
Members were just looking after others. The administrator had a look and turns out all good.

Who said anyone was going to buy anything without pics? The seller simply put it up early to see if it generated any interest while they were away. There was no need for anyone to go crazy paranoid about it - if not interested in the item and have nothing useful to add then don't comment. Pretty simple I thought.
Don't forget the seller is also a member here. I bet they don't feel very looked after following the treatment received here.

How tall are you and your wife? I'm 6' exactly, do you think I would fit?
Thu 26 Jun, 2014 9:02 am
Thats correct.
Thu 26 Jun, 2014 1:01 pm
Ajmmacleod -
At 6 feet you will fit, but there will not be a lot of spare room at the base of the bag. Some people like to have the spare footroom, at the cost of slightly more weight. The next size up in all WM bags is 6'6".

Ah, thanks for the info. I will probably hold out for something a little bigger.
Thu 26 Jun, 2014 2:14 pm
Maybe you can get into a Paddys and try one on for size, I'm a bit over 6'1" and I could fit in but wasn't comfortable

One bag left (with the left hand zip) - I'll let it go for $310 plus postage for anyone interested.
