I purchased the 2p as I loved the 1p so much and I am a hopeless gear 'trier'. I have used the tent for 9 nights total since it arrived in September of this year. It is every bit as good as my much loved 1p.
After purchase, I nabbed a giant BD Megamid here on marketplace which made the potential family uses of the 2p XMid for me diminish greatly.
I did damage the tent fly, low down near the corner and had it professionally repaired at Venus Repair Workshop for $90, it is re-seam sealed and as good as new. A very neat repair. I will include photos of the outer and inner side of the repairs. Otherwise, the tent is as new.
edited to add: just did a super quick pitch to illustrate location/size of repair.
