Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

OK, just kidding - mostly. Been dealing with a lot of site related issues this week, and a wide variety of them. Is it a full moon all week? (Yes, I know a full moon lasts only for a moment.)
Sometimes I think I would be better off without such a web site.

This forum is an invaluable resource for bushwalkers and while I understand your frustrations, it would be a terrible pity. I certainly value the effort you make in adjudicating the disputes, which are largely unavoidable with such a range of personalities and bushwalking styles.

There are over 2300 members on this website. Sadly it is less than a dozen people (the same dozen over and over) who cause most of the major moderation issues.
I was very tempted to moderate this post and lock it.

Often I had to give pep talks to my retail staff. Inevitably that was the consequence of a bad experience with a customer ( well sometime it was the boss...)
Usually I reminded them that about 10% of the population suffers from mental problems and some see retail staff as a free outlet for their problems (much cheaper than therapy...)
Forums are the same.

I think it's closer to 90% Franco!!!
Nik, best not worry too much, it's all pretty tame stuff, a lot of people get worked up over trivial stuff - ...(we're all adults after all - if you get my meaning

Sorry guys didn't mean to worry anyone. Just joking around.
I've been copping the flack for a few years now and I think I'm up to it.

Could be wrong WT but perhaps it is related to our activity on the forum and on the track that lands us in the" virtual boxing ring " lets face it "the where am I thread, biggest of them all " which I enjoy is not conducive to controversy just full of nice photographs of places I have visited some I would like to and with regret some I will never be able to, whereas some other threads do IMHO require input whether it is informative or otherwise.
If we all agreed life would be so boring and there would be no need for moderators and in my 43 years living in Tasmania my experience has been, always be ready to accept someone bagging you (mostly in jest) and learn to give it as good as you got

How much?
Mind, it'd be a bit different if I was running it . . .

Sorry to hear you're copping it SOB- unfair on your own site, to say the least. The sometimes silent BIG majority of users think you are doing an awesome job. I've been really happy with the site since rejoining, though I've kept away from most controversial threads.

Thanks guys. It's a great community here.

It's been behaving itself lately. Probably saving up for a big one just before I'm due to get on the ferry next year . . .
