Just throwing it out there; I'm in the market for an "Oztrail Chateau 12" canvas tent. There's 6 of us in the family now
Me, wifey and 4 kids; we're looking for something that will last us for a while and give us a bit of space; have looked around on the web and am pretty sure that this is what I'm after.

You might as well buy a shack!

Yeah but then we'd have to keep going back to the same place every time!! This way we can just pack up and head off in any direction

Haha I know - maybe a caravan? Seriously, the tent is huge!

Hi Johnny_k
Sorry for the slow reply but I wanted to have used it before providing a review!!
Please see the attached PDF.
Overall we were very happy with the tent over the 11 nights that we stayed at Picnic Point in West Ulverstone. It was me, the wife, and 4 young kids (ages 7, 5, 3 and 6 months)
If you have any other queries don;t hesitate to ask and I will answer them as best I can.
Cheers
Phil

Great Post Phil- very useful. I have 3 kids and considering either the chateau 12 or 10. I haven't been ale to find a place where I can see the tents set up. Did you end up comparing the 2 at the time? As also wondering if you had any other feedback. The set up you have looks good.

We did look at both the 10 and 12.
From memory, one of the reasons we went up to the 12 is because of the larger 'side' rooms. With 4 kids, we needed enough space to have 2x camping bunks in one of the side rooms. The side room has enough depth to walk through the centre 'door' to go into the room, and have a bunk running on either side of you (as the room is 2.1m long)
Very easy (surprisingly easy) to set up and pack up.
Looking forward to the 6 of us living in it for 2 weeks straight after Christmas down at the beach in Tassie here!
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Phil
