Hire in Kathmandu is very cheap, New thermals etc cheap.
Just have a few days planned to explore around Thamel, and purchase / hire from one of the many hundreds of outdoor stores
Your guide (?) will have contacts for good gear, or just shop prudently.
Be prepared to haggle
