WTB: Tent pole ~410cm long, aluminum

Postby Orangutan » Sat 16 May, 2015 8:38 am

Hi all,
Just throwing it out there in the hope someone might have a spare pole around 162in/411cm. Going to be used as a crossing pole for a tarptent for high winds.
Do you have anything like it you don't need anymore? (actual pole would be 8.5mm/.340 diameter, 18in sections but not critical)
Thanks for looking,
Phil

Yeah, thanks strider. They didn't have a pole, just replacement sections at $15ea.
I can get an original through tarptent, or quest outfitters for about 55us Inc post. Ansco in oz will cost about 60au for the sections only (need shock cord and end tips too).
Can get a generic (not Easton) pole 422cm on ebay for about $30 but won't arrive for ages.

Just checking to see if anyone has something they have no use for, and might as well sell. Can likely get it quicker that way. Im going on a trip in July and want to start doing some practice runs (making mistakes closer to home! Haha)
Thanks again

Would FG be strong enough?

Otherwise I have some surplus FG poles here you can have cheap

Cheers. I'm just thinking that FG might be a bit heavy? I'm struggling with a 26kg pack so cutting weight is starting to be a real priority! Haha

Phil which TT do you need it for? Could you get one from TT or would they still charge their ridiculous postage fee?

Yeah I can, works out around $50us. Just wanted to see if anyone has something available here first. Thanks.
I'm a bit of a hoarder and have heaps of old things around the house I keep for 'one day just in case'. Need it for the moment DW. Will probably only use it for this one trip early July.
