(TAS) Annual Mega (Container Sized) Gear Sale- Ebay

Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

(TAS) Annual Mega (Container Sized) Gear Sale- Ebay

Postby Nuts » Mon 30 May, 2011 1:58 pm

OK, maybe this is a better way?

These are either unused or lightly used stock/hire items.
Some things we had too many of, some are guides gear, some are my own (yes i get carried away also :) )
Some things can be had cheaper (perhaps) but the intention is to move the stuff on, so (if its still around in a few weeks) a sale might be in order
I'll try to remember to post details here before any sale..

Been doing this for a few years to keep stock updated. Nothing wrong or unsuitable with any of the gear, wouldnt have bought it the first place if so, the M/Smith packs and Marmot jackets arent 'ultralight but they are very well built with lots of great design features....

It could be an opportunity to start someone out with most of the gear needed, we have other sizes and models, we have other gear that we hadnt planned to list but can source (sorry, no sleeping bags this time...)

For purposes of making this easier (for me), local pickup is ok ( but no tyre kickers..... :D ) post is preferred (so I can have someone handle it if i'm away)
*If you want a private sale for something I can pull it from ebay (ie 5% off additional).

Paypal preferred (for both our sakes) but DD or CC are ok.
I post at least once a week twice if i'm able
*BWA (T) members half price local (Tassie) postage...

Would rather questions by PM here or via ebay. Comments are fine (I hope) :)

Dont mind being honest about my thoughts on the gear (where I can) so please do ask questions before buying.
More to be added over the coming month including some nice cheap 'pre-loved' ( :) ) stuff for those on a budget or new to (lightweight) bushwalking...

Anyhow.... http://stores.ebay.com.au/ORgear?_rdc=1

Yep, And what then? A kitchen sink? :D ... hey, that reminds me... where are those sinks...

(I have to say that pack did look hefty... might have been the photo, like a pack with legs...)

Already got 2 kitchen sinks! I had to rationalize and take my little 5l sink on the OT as my pack was too full, and not exactly light

Another sale from 5pm Friday over the weekend (mostly jackets/packs). More gear to be added today/tomorrow.

There has been relatively good interest from the forum, thanks to those involved

I made the post office late on Tuesday (for those that bought something last weekend) and should again tomorrow.

Happy Birthday: mattanitah (27)

Ha.. no mate, i dont think i'd last too long, my 'mark ups' are mostly 'mark downs'...

(Its gear left from buying for (and using on) guided walks as well as a few other personal bits from me & others involved in the business).

Theres a mountain of stuff, unfortunately my time (and patience) will likely only get me into the foothills before i give up for another year

Ive added and tweaked a few things. A couple of hilleberg items to be added (hopefully) today:

This Jacket:

marmb2.jpg

This Pack (I have one myself, really like these tough packs. They 'de-bling' themselves as the (printed) labels and heat transfer patches will come off (but thats a good thing right :D ) the main (lid) logo is embroidered, the pressure washer will not work on it :| They have a unique harness with two 'cup-like' pads that fit over your hips, its a cinch to tighten them as the straps pull forward and with the weight on the 'cups' doesnt need to be very tight at all (i find... ) (4.5 stars from me :D )

One of these whistles with each marmot portal and kirkwood jackets (while they last)

Sorry... its a whistle...

edit: for anyone buying through ebay, please contact me Before paying (to claim any 'member benefits')

Hilleberg Akto added.... unfortunately its not tent pitching weather :( so a pitched photo will have to wait.

Please note, the gear posted last week may have been subject to delay from the flight restrictions into Melbourne (natural disasterz), looks to be moving now but don't panic if you haven't got something that you expected... hold tight!

Re: sleeping bags. We do have a few but just summer weight (-1c) bags. I noticed that Campsaver have a sale on Marmot bags. These are good prices and the bags (especially the Pinnacle model) (or Helium if you use a bivy) are excellent bags for oz use. Big roomy bags with top shelf materials and fill yet nice n light. These are Great prices if you can get freepost?

The tabs on the bottom of the 'compactor' go through the the tabs at the base of the pack, it then clips on around the sides. The line included is an upper compression 'girdle' that runs around the front of the pack. just ask if you cant figure it out, they are a bit 'different'. Nice packs, they should be pretty bombproof. All the Best...

Got it all working and tested with the skis, all good. Loving the chest pouch.

The only thing I am having trouble with is attaching the chest strap.

Akto has about half hour to go, there's about 30 people watching and it will likely not be the cheapest.... Most people here could work out a value for one used but just a heads up that I have 2 more to come.... They are, however, in excellent condition.

These scout packs might interest some:

mpack.jpg

hmm, its a bit blurred.. anyhow.. theyre new (this also looks a bit dusty..)

mpac2.jpg

The shoulder harness is at its shortest, they adjust up to the top (quite a bit.. i tried one on and they almost fit.. i'd say up to around 170-175cm max height)

And this Mont Icicle Vest (looks to be in good nick):

Thanks Nuts,
Jacket turned up today and it fits like a glove. perfect size for me. Wow, Have I lost some weight this year.

It smells like my Aarn Pack after I sprayed a DWR finnish onto it. High chemical smell. Phew.

It feels a lot lighter than my MD Melalauca Jacket and takes up a lot less pack space as well. Very happy with the buy.
