So after using my Goondie twicenow 4 times, I've decided it is exactly tent it claims to be, but not the tent I hoped it would be. It's a good little tent, but really it is too similar to my MSR tent to be worthwhile having both, so I've decided to move on to something else - what I am yet to decide!

The Goondie is as good as new and has only been used on two4 nights including quite a lot of rain on one night, and a little snow on the other night. Both times keeping me totally dry.

It will come with all the original pegs, guys etc.(excluding tags).

Now $299 (FREE POSTAGE IN AUS), or pickup from Ulverstone.

Hello,
,
Not sale related, sorry.
But which tent were you testing it against, and what's your feedback on it?
I have a Hubba XP, and am interested in your critique.
I'm in Tassie so prob have similar requirements...
Thanks,

Quinn.

I have a Hubba Hubba HP. I bought the Goondie as more of a winter specific tent due to it's full solid inner (no vents except one that can be closed) and I thought being much smaller should make it considerably warmer. Also the more solid pole structure and extra guys were appealing. As it turns out the inner material is much more breathable than any solid inner I have had before so it still doesn't warm up much inside like I had expected. It is more solid in wind than the HHHP but it was the warmth I was after and seem it is only marginally better it's kinda pointless. Really the inner material is excellent for year-round use as it breathes well and keeps drips, dust and breezes out, but as a winter specific use it's a bit airy when combined with the not-to-ground fly. I'm toying with the idea of a Hilleberg Soulo, but it is heavier, smaller (130mm lower ceiling = too small?) almost double the price and as a one season tent just a bit overkill for me I think.

If i was choosing between a Hubba HP and a Goondie 1 I think I'd go the Goondie for more space, 2 accessible vestibules and a bit more solid. But if I already had a Hubba HP I wouldn't bother "upgrading".

Okay after initially not being entirely sure I actually wanted to sell it, I've decided I do, so the price has dropped to $299 inc. postage.
