Meindl Ortler Boots

[VIC Melb] I have a brand new pair of Meindl Ortler boots size 9 still in the box. They have been given one coat of the leather conditioner supplied by Meindl. These boots are stiffer than I thought they would be and for the trail walking I now do I need a softer boot (getting old). A description of the boot has been lifted from the Meindl web site.
