FOUND - camera - Western Arthurs

Postby grantd » Wed 29 Jan, 2014 8:07 pm

Found a Sony Cybershot camera in black camera bag on Crags of Andromeda in the Western Arthurs on 23rd January 2014. It still works and from the look of car number plate in some photos the owner may be Victorian or South Australian. If it's yours give me a call on 0448-067705 and will arrange return.

We finished the full traverse on the 20th Jan and there was guy we crossed paths with a couple of nights who had lost his camera. His name was Michael and he was from South Aus. We told him he should leave a note at the registration booth on his return and to also check this site, so he may get in touch with you.

Call the local ranger, there is a sign up on the sign in/out book asking for that selfsame camera.

The ranger night be able to tell you the phone number.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

I have spoken to the Parks office (Mt Field) but they don't go out to Scotts Pk every day. Next visit is likely sometime next week and, now knowing there may be a note there, I've asked for them to check to see if the note and contact details are still there and let me know.

For future reference, for anyone who loses something, always useful to also inform the local Parks office as that's a logical central contact point for both losers and finders.
