Up for sale is the full SL3 kit from Go-Lite (SL3 Flysheet, Full nest with floor, standalone floor) and also a custom made solo nest by Terra Rosa Gear in Melbourne. With this gear you've got all of your seasons covered, from solo trips to the snow right up to balmy mosquito free summer nights under the stars on the beach (preferably with company). Suffice to say, this is versatile equipment that is in good condition.

I purchased the yellow SL3 tent from the USA, and the nest from Bluegum Mic from this forum: http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=7973&p=104930&hilit=terra+solo+nest#p104930.

Some equipment weights:

Flysheet: 680g
stuff sack: 33g
pegs + sack 72g
Pole: 380g

It'd be nice if someone would be interested in the whole lot in which case I'd be negotiable on price, but here's the breakdown for the separate components:

Go-Lite yellow SL3 flysheet: $150
Go-Lite nest with Floor: $50
Go-Lite standalone floor: $30
Terra Rosa custom made solo nest: $150 (More pctures and info here: http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=7973&p=104930&hilit=terra+solo+nest#p104930)

Postage Australia wide for the lot will be around $30. Postage for individual pieces will be around $13. Pick up is from New Town, Hobart.

I'd consider swapping for a good mid-weight alpine sleeping bag with breathable outer shell. Offers are welcome.

I'll be third in line if for some unlikely reason the first two gents fall through.

I'll take the pole if you want to sell it separately.

I'll buy my inner back if still available. Has it seen much use since I sold it to you. It will fit in my new shelter :-)

Hey mic, whats the new shelter you want to use the inner for? It looks like it's designed for a pretty specific size and shape so you have me curious

A luxe hex peak. Whilst the inner in it is semi solid already, this inner was a nice winter inner so it will work well.

With these centre pole tent designs, how do people protect the centre of the floor? In years past when we had no water/insect protection, the pole just go on the grass/soil. Nowadays with waterproof bucket floors, , wouldn't the centre pole cause unnecessary wear and potential damage?

I have a silicon circle. It was the base a a babies bowl to make it non slip. It make a fantastic pole base =D Otherwise the lid of a tennis ball tin is perfect.
The golite floor is reinforced at that point though. When using a half nest though the pole is to the ground. Mind you I still use my pole base to stop it sinking.

Looks nice mic, kinda like a smaller version of the SL3 but designed for solo use. It never ceases to amaze me how light and yet spacious some modern tents are, that thing is a palace for one and only weighs around 1250g including the pegs! My Duomid with inner, pole, guys & pegs is around 1100g and I thought that was impressive.

Are you planning on using trekking poles with it?

Ok, so the Flysheet and full Nest have been sold to phan_TOM and it looks like Mic has dibs on the Solo Nest (Mic, I've finally PM'd you!).

I'm going to keep the SL3 solo floor and experiment with it but if anyone really wants it, just message me.

Yes I'm a definite for the inner and thanks I got the PM (and responded :-)
phan-TOM I use hiking poles with my mids. I've recently gone from my BD flicks to a set of leki cressida flick locks so I need to remove the bottom sections and make sure the connector fits. No biggy if it doesn't as I get the tubing from ebay and they have all sizes.

It makes sense to use walking poles as tent poles if you use them. I don't but I've seen people pitch their duomids with them set up as an inverted V. It certainly increases the usable space inside the tent and probably makes for a more rigid pitch.

I really like the look of that SilHexPeak, just when I thought I'd found my ultimate 3 season tent in the duomid too... must. resist.

Hehehe. I too had a duomid in my mitts but the owner had sellers remorse and I happily let them have it back. I agree this is my perfect shelter. I love the hex shape and its in the 40D sil vs the shangri la is 15D these days. Whilst its robust and I've had it in a good blow on kosi, I'll be happier with the heavier fabric.

and received thanks inm8.

I can't believe how easy it is to set up, it took me 5-10 minutes last night and it was mostly a good tight pitch. It was a little bit loose around the bottom edge of one or two of the panels but I think it was a good first attempt. I'm not sure if the pole needs to be extended another notch or if the pegs need to placed further out to get it spot on. Some practice will probably sort it out or if worse comes to worst I may go against my chromosomes and try and find some instructions online :)

I'll look forward to hearing how it goes. Is it easy to pitch and is it a fly first or integral pitch?
my sil duomid is 30D & I have a couple of 30D tarps, the SL3 feels equal to or heavier weight than those so I'm guessing it's an older version before they used the 15D material
