Currently have Denali 1.5kg

Was hoping to get lighter. Down or synthetic. I am a cold sleeper but happy to stock up for warmer months if you can chuck me a bargain.

Well my current one is comfort rated -2
So anything the same or warmer of a lesser weight is a good start.
I haven't done any research yet more wanted to sus out what people have avail 2nd hand to save some money on gear upgrades. My pack is just too heavy at the moment.

-10 comfort would probably be spot on for the really cold Australian months non snow.

Denali Comfort rating is probably closer to EN Limit rating. These cheap synthetic bags have a strong tendency to overstate their capabilities. A true -10C bag would be an absolute boiler in Aus on all but the coolest of nights. My quilt is rated to -6 and I would not want it any warmer.

Froze in thermals below 10c in it. But in fairness I had a crap mat and a summer tent too so I didn't give it much of a chance to keep me warm.
I now have a wind proof tent, so no more cold drifty breeze and will be getting a new or 2nd hand mat before my next venture.

So based on the Denali's -2 rating, if it's anything as inaccurate as that I would suggest -10 for me. I am a cold sleeper but like I said new tent, new mat as well.

I'm more after the weight reduction.

Would do a google on reviews for whatever someone might offer me second hand anyway, just trying to save some money before I go getting silly.

Have a look through the Equipment thread. Someone else asked the same question a few weeks/months ago and there was a lot of suggestions in there for ideas. If you do go new I would recommend an Enlightened Equipment Quilt or a Sea To Summit Trek 2 or 3 sleeping bag. Good value for money bags that are very warm and pretty good prices online as well.

Trek 3 bag is about 1200 grams, Quilt would be about 660 grams for same rating so depends on if you want a bag or quilt and how much weight you want to save.

I would suggest that you consider getting a good winter mat (Exped / Thermarest) or similar as well as a quilt/bag as I think you will still be cold even with a good bag unless you get the ground insulation sorted. Perhaps get a new mat first and try the bag you have already to see if that helps first.

Yeh I started doing some readin on sleeping bags last night when I couldn't get to sleep... Just to get my brain going and make it harder to sleep!

I think when and if I buy new, quilt will be a good choice for me, I'm looking at weight.
I also plan on getting an exped downmat 9M or 7M (which I already posted an add for) my research led me to them when I had to get my gf something for her bday last week and the mat is ace! But to make up for the 400g extra on sleeping comfort something else needs to go. I'll get another new one for myself if someone doesn't offer me one second hand on my other add.
I wouldn't mind an exped 5 airmat for summer too.

The jannu I bought off danny arived today so I'm super stoked about that! Going to go have a play in it soon

But basically thought I'll see what people might offer me 2nd hand, won't be hard to improve on the Denali! That way I'm saving abit of money for now since I also have to get the mat, a new pack and a beacon and a whole list of stuff.
And just bought a good tent.

At the moment I only have good lightweight summer gear.
It's cold now and I still want to adventure so need to make changes ASAP before half a year passes and I've missed months of walking

So someone have a nice cheap gift for me that's good. I can't say no to a bargain!
