If you've been wondering what to do with your house or pets while you're on your next big adventure, here's another option for you:

I have started a house & pet sitting service. How it works is simple: while you're off trekking in Nepal, Patagonia, NZ, Australia, etc, I will stay at your home, looking after it and any pets. The basic benefit is that you get to have peace of mind when you travel and you avoid the need for kennels, catteries.

CARING FOR YOUR HOME
I'm house-trained and house-proud and you can expect the greatest care for your property and belongings. When you return from your trip, you can look forward to a home that is as clean as you left it ... and maybe cleaner. Floors will be vacuumed, hard surfaces mopped. Oven cleaned. Toilets cleaned. Linen washed and folded.

Depending on your situation, I am happy to assist in other ways around your home:
- lawn mowing
- weeding
- watering
- sweeping leaves, etc
- collecting mail

I can also:
- tackle any small fix-it jobs around the property
- assist you with transportation to/from the airport/bus/train depot

CARING FOR YOUR BEST FRIENDS
Kennels and catteries are expensive for you and difficult for your pets. Instead, I will provide personalised, loving care to your pets, in the home that they know.

I have been around animals all of my life and I really enjoy having animals around. Cats and dogs have been a constant, but there have also been fish, chickens, guinea pigs, tropical fish, budgies, cockatoos, rats, snakes and lizards as well as pigs, horses and even sheep.

I can look after your pets in lots of ways:
- feeding
- walking
- cleaning (fur, cages, etc)
- brushing fur/hair
- transportation (to vets, family, etc)
- applying any medications
- and providing them lots of personal attention

LOCATIONS
For the moment, the service is limited to Melbourne and surrounding areas

ABOUT ME
I'm on the 'responsible' side of 50. I work in IT and get to work from home a lot of the time. I'm a non-smoker and lead an active life - like you, I just love getting into the outdoors (There's a link to my hiking blog below). I have my own car, laptop and a few bits and bobs I cart around with me on my stays.

WIIFM (What's In It For Me)
They say a change is like a holiday and for me, house sitting is like that. I really enjoy meeting new people and their pets. I also like the fact that my living costs are much lower!

COSTS
The basic idea is that we don't charge each other for the house/pet sitting as we both stand to benefit. That said, I expect to pay you a pre-agreed amount towards the cost of my use of utilities and Internet.

So that's me and what I can do. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Send me a PM and let's chat about what you need. Looking forward to assisting you - and your best friends!

Don't worry, Moondog, I reckon your prized vinyl classics would be safe. :D

Would have suited me a couple of times, Andrew. Not sure about the future.

What would be your preferred length of time for a sit ?

Howdy. A week or more is preferred.
