Hi I am wanting to buy rain gear but hesitant to buy new as I am losing weight and not at goal. I need 2xl-3xl (117cm ) rain or outer pants , rain shell jacket and a down jacket. I am hunting in op shops, gumtree and ebay but not having much luck.

Hi jackattack,

Rainbird do lightweight jackets and pants up to at least 3XL, $50-$60 each. Not suitable for scrub bashing but will certainly keep you dry.

Or Huski for synthetics, admittedly bulky but cheap enough and in larger sizes and warm

Hi Moondog, I will hunt down the Huski stuff and have a look. I have only done day walks, first overnight walk next week. Have a huge pack so size is not an issue, just dont want to shell out huge money for stuff I wont be able to wear in a few months but still need stuff to go out in.

Maybe I should look at the extra bulk and weight as training for longer walks... looking at what I will need may also be helpful as well - poncho for me and to cover pack, light jacket, inner warm layer, base layer and maybe rain pants.
