SOLD [VIC MELB] - Garmin Etrex 30x GPS

Postby keithy » Fri 23 Sep, 2016 8:12 pm

This is the latest model, the upgraded version of the etrex 30. It is new in box. I have opened to test it with batteries but it hasn't had it's first GPS lock yet.

I bought it for a mate but have talked him into getting a touch screen version.

I will:
* update the latest firmware so it is ready to go,
* install OSM topo maps
* some other maps you can delete if you don't need.

I don't have a spare microSD card, so I will install these maps on the internal memory, but will note which files they are so you can delete them if not required.

SOLD thanks!

Hi Keithy

The Oregon series (I have the 600), it is quicker and touchscreen but it is more expensive at around $500+, bigger/heavier and has around 8-10hours shorter battery life, but after using mine compared with my etrex 30 he decided it suited him more. I probably could go through all the pluses/minuses, but it will clog this thread. I have made a few previous posts on comparing GPS devices, or if you wait for the October issue of Bushwalking Australia, I have written a small article on choosing GPS and it covers most of the differences.
