Hi,
I'm looking for 2 20 litre metal drums for food drops on the AAWT. Melbourne metro preferred.

Try building sites that are nearing completion - often paint and other coating tins being thrown away - and check the skips. Also try specialist paint shops, I have got a couple from them.
The tins are usually easy to clean, let them dry out and the paint will usually peel off.

I use the 25L plastic canoe drums for my stash dumps......wide-mouthed with a big screw top lid & an O ring seal. Available at Bunnings or BCF for about $20 each. Any particular reason for preferring metal drums.......I've had a few of my plastic drums out in the bush for 10+ years and have never had any issues with them going brittle or failing. Cheers

Agree with the above, and I add that restaurants/cafes are a good option too. Often oil or other foodstuffs come in them.

If you still want metal (with clip lock lids) and only having been used for 1 x AAWT walk last year (so the outsides are showing some corrosion but are perfectly sound (better camouflaged!!) let me know. They're yours for $10 each.

Thanks for the response - good suggestions on sourcing. On the plastic v steel - I know someone who had their food gotten at by a persistent rodent that gnawed through the plastic. I know they're everywhere and cheap/free but I'm going to err on the side of caution.
Scoha I've PMed you.
