Unfortunately I discovered, just as we were about to leave, that I'd put them down somewhere other than with my pack. We had a break at the campsite at the NE 'end' of the tarn, I collected water and took a couple of photos. I had a good look in all those places, but in the end we just had to go. I'm thinking they might have fallen into a button grass clump near the water's edge. Minimal chance of anybody going there for a good while, let alone someone finding them, but stranger things have happened...

This is why I have bits of string tied to mine, although it was my reading glasses I lost last time I'm on my third replacement sunnies in 10 years

Sorry to read of your loss. I now get my prescription sunnies from Zenni which saved me about 80%. Not quite as good as getting them from the optometrists but they were able to handle my weird prescription and can polarise them. The Zenni glasses case they came with is one of the best I have come across - quite rigid, good volume and only 47 grams.
