Keen to give tarping a shot, thought I'd ask around before I put in an order at Tier Gear or somewhere else.
Looking for a tarp suitable for 1, possibly 2 people. Ideally under 400g. Located in Melbourne, happy to pay for postage.
Could consider cuben for the right price.
Thanks!
Done thanks.

You are welcome to have a look at my cuben tarp. It is not for sale (yet) but it would give you an idea what a 6.5x9 foot tarp looks like.
I had to buy and sell a couple before I found what works for me. I am in Altona Meadows.

I have a friend who is looking to get rid of an unused 8x10 Borah Gear Silnylon Tarp. They no longer advertise this size but Terra Rosa Gear make one equivalent that retails for $195. My mate is happy to let it go for $150 postage included if you’re interested.

Having tried a few, including home made ones, I've ended up with a Zpacks Cuban one. Perfect.

Would love to check out your tarp Wim, if only I lived a bit closer. Looks like you and Andrew are both saying cuben is the way to go. I'm thinking of getting a 9/7' x 9' cat cut tarp for from Yama in America for ~$180 delivered.
Thanks for the offer whitefang, going to have to pass on it though.
If you don't mind, what sort of bug protection are you guys using?

I don't actually sleep under the tarp....I just use it for a dry area on backcountry NZ fly fishing trips.
I need major bug protection there. Whilst I sleep in a ZPacks hexamid over ther. if I was by myself under a tarp, I reckon a tightly woven mozzie mesh would be fine.
