Big catering size pot needed

I'm looking for a big pot
A really big pot around 30 litre or larger; the larger the better really
Money is tight but if anybody finds one at an Op-Shop and can pick-up and drop off in Geelong or if you are in and around the Alps and could hold it for me it would be appreciated
Or if any of you are home brewers and could loan one for the day even better
I have volunteered to cook soup for the Back Country Festival at Falls Creek this winter and like almost all volunteer things there isn't much money there

Hi MD,

Sometimes those little Asian variety or grocery stores have the really big pots, and about as cheap as you'll find anywhere... outside an op shop of course.

Keep an eye out for any restaurants or catering businesses closing down too.

Edit: *slap* preaching to the converted here !

Small smiley face?
I don't see many 120 litre pots in the Op-Shops
I may buy a cheap Chineasy one but for soup making a thicker bottom is better if I can find one

19l is about 100 litres too small; I really am looking for 100 to 120 litres; I need to cook soup for 250 to 300 people, I have 4 or 5 of those tiny stock pots already

Saw some massive aluminum/alloy stock pots in the market area of Dubai, Chrissy before last. Maybe check out the multicultural areas of Melbs.

Also remember a nasi goreng (fried rice) duo cooking at the nightly market in Sanur Bali. Big *&%$#! wok on a gas flame mixing it up!

Best I can see is this: https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/pr ... gJ6FvD_BwE

Might be worth a day out wandering the streets of Footscray/Springvale/city markets ???? Or ask your nearest Asian restaurant for some tips.

I have found a huge but cheap one on eBay that I may buy, it's a charity gig so my budget is limited.
I just know that no matter what sized pot I use I will be wrong.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LARGE-1 ... 1438.l2649

100 litre capacity is only 70 litres actual so it is a bit small but that's about 290 ladles of soup

You'll want to make sure it has a thick bottom for $65 stainless steel.

A couple of questions...actually three...

What sort of soup?
Are you preparing and cooking the soup there or is this for rechauffer?
Do you need to serve 200 covers in one hit or is it over a whole day?

Maybe you could approach some of your local function centers and see if they'll lend you a stockpot for a small deposit.

I volunteered to make Stone Soup
Who knows but Stone Soup is one of those things, when it's gone it is gone.
I'll close this post soon but many thanks all for helping me think out loud
